A West Virginia college has decided to charge its unvaccinated students a substantial fee simply for not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

West Virginia Wesleyan College will be charging its unvaccinated students a non-refundable fee of $750 for the upcoming fall semester.

The “Covid fee” will be used to fund the uptick in testing, given that unvaccinated students will undergo required “weekly surveillance testing” on WVWC’s campus.

“The fee will be charged to all students who have not provided a proof of vaccination (full vaccination or first shot toward vaccination) by September 7,” the college stated on its website.

Unvaccinated students, faculty and staff at the college will also be required to wear a mask indoors at all times and maintain social distancing. In the event a student contracts COVID-19 and can’t return home after the end of the fall semester, they’ll be charged an extra $250 to quarantine on campus.

If liberal politicians and institutions cannot force vaccine mandates on the public, then it’s clear that they’ll attempt to get people vaccinated by coercion. Students and their parents already pay thousands upon thousands of dollars for college classes. Why should they pay even more for making personal decisions about their own health?

Every American, regardless of their thoughts on the COVID vaccine, should be quick to defend the freedom for everyone to choose whether or not to receive it. We risk losing our freedoms at the hands of liberals who want to force or persuade the entire population into vaccination.
