18 undocumented workers have been fired throughout five Trump-owned golf courses in New York and New Jersey. The firings emerged after a series of reports highlighted the employment of illegal workers within the courses. Eric Trump has helped take responsibility of the courses while Donald Trump continues his service as president.

The New York Times published an article last December, drawing attention to undocumented employees at the golf course in Bedminster. The article sparked an internal audit by the Trump Organization.

Eric Trump confirmed the firings and remarked about future course of action.

“We are making a broad effort to identify any employee who has given false and fraudulent documents to unlawfully gain employment… Where identified, any individual will be terminated immediately.”

We are positioned at a unique point in time. A time where we either decide to uphold immigration laws or turn a blind eye. It is within the Democrat’s agenda to paint President Trump in a negative light but in doing so they are disregarding the importance of enforcing laws that have been passed by both Democrat and Republican administrations.

Many of the illegal workers provided false documentation and fraudulent social security numbers in order to gain employment. Several of the illegal employees even began claiming there was a hostile work environment and demanded an investigation. The interesting thing is that these complaints only came about after the undocumented workers were fired.

Anibal Romero is an attorney who represents several of the fired workers including Juan Quintero. Romero began flinging around blanket statements for instance when he said the illegal workers were “material witnesses of a federal crime.”

Dem., Senator Robert Menendez called on federal authorities to open an investigation into the Trump Organization’s golf courses.

It is interesting how the organizations upheld the law and terminated employees who provided false green cards and social security numbers yet still found themselves in the middle of an investigation due to retaliatory remarks made by displeased, illegal workers. The laws in the United States of America are not bargaining tools and they are not optional. If we want to be a nation of laws, then we need to enforce said laws and stop entertaining revenge tours against those who carry out the laws by those who ignore them.

“The glory of justice and the majesty of law are created not just by the constitution- nor by the courts- nor by the officers of the law- nor by the lawyers- but by the men and women who constitute our society- who are the protectors of the law as they are themselves protected by the law.”
