On June 29, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of Pro-Life values. The California case, National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, debated whether Pro-Life clinics must comply with a state requirement to inform patients of government-funded abortion services.
Christian non-profit groups typically run these clinics and make it their mission to offer pregnancy services to women in crisis. This California law directly goes against the beliefs these Christian organizations hold. Further, requiring health care providers to advocate for abortion during patient care appointments threatens free speech and religious freedoms.
Thanks to a conservative majority on the Court, this decision struck down the state’s abortion rhetoric.
“In this case, the government used its power to force pro-life pregnancy centers to provide free advertising for abortion. The Supreme Court said that the government can’t do that, and that it must respect Pro-Life beliefs,” Michael Ferris, representing the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, told the Washington Post.
Cases like these remind us of the Supreme Court’s influence and just how important a Conservative majority is. Thank you, President Trump, for appointing yet another Conservative to the Court!
A win for the Pro-Life movement, and a win for the Trump Administration!
