Men in women’s restrooms? Calling children mixed up names and pronouns? What okay’s these radical instances to take place in American society?

The ‘Equality’ Act, recently passed in the House of Representatives would ensure these instances – and more – are protected under law. The radical left will stop at nothing to take away our religious freedoms, constitutional rights, and liberties as private citizens. Americans of faith could suffer a large loss, should the ‘Equality’ Act move beyond the House.

This dangerous piece of legislation is a direct threat to our bedrock American values. Its purpose is to amend the Civil Rights Act to add “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the protected classes listed in the bill. Read the fine print: Giving these groups unlimited protection under the law squashes the religious freedom guaranteed to all Americans under our Constitution.

Heritage Foundation analysis reported: “Where the original Civil Rights Act of 1964 furthered equality by ensuring that African-Americans had equal access to public accommodations and material goods, the Equality Act would further inequality by penalizing everyday Americans for their beliefs about marriage and biological sex.”

The example that sparks most Americans’ familiarity? The nationally known case of wedding cake baker Jack Phillips. Phillips executed his right to religious liberty and freedom by refusing to bake a cake for a gay couple, something that violated his beliefs as a private citizen. This case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it was decided in a win for religious liberty. But under Pelosi’s new Equality Act, Phillips would have been held in violation of the Civil Rights Act — and forced to perform a task against his religious beliefs.

The Heritage Foundation also points out the expansive nature of this legislation wouldn’t just stop at private businesses. It would effect several other instutions in society including: Religious hospitals, doctors and nurses who refuse to perform transgender surgeries and provide hormone therapy drugs; our school systems, by requiring teachers to use ‘preferred pronouns’ and comply with the demands of gender dysmorphic children; and women in all public places by granting men unlimited access to restroom facillities, locker rooms, and membership on women’s sports teams, based on a “changeable” gender identifyer.

While the left continues to spin this legislation as “equality,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway called it out for what it truly is in a Fox interview, “The president and the White House support equality. We don’t support pieces of legislation that have poison pills in it that can harm other people.”

Today, our religious freedoms are constantly under attack by liberal politicians. We cannot allow Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats to force Americans to act against their core religious beliefs.
