Recent polls show that only 49 percent of American voters support the withdrawal from Afghanistan compared to 69 percent in April.
The Afghanistan crisis has been exacerbated by President Joe Biden’s decision to remove American troops from the region. The United States has maintained a strong presence in the Middle East since 9/11. This presence has been designed to prevent a terrorist organization from overthrowing a democratic government in the area.
Joe Biden said that the crisis and collapse of Afghanistan occurred “more quickly than anticipated.” This collapse occurred within weeks of American troops leaving the country. In addition to the Afghanistan government being taken over by the Taliban, The US embassy has also been overthrown.
Biden claimed to have removed the troops from Afghanistan to help promote the independence of the region and remove the United States from multiple decades of conflict. “I am president of the United States and the buck stops with me. I’m deeply saddened by the facts we now face but I do not regret my decision to end America’s war fighting in Afghanistan.” Joe Biden said.
The United States has helped defend innocent people around the entire world from terror, but it looks like the work that has been done in Afghanistan has been destroyed by the Biden administration’s decision. Biden is showing incompetence as a leader and Commander-in-Chief.
