Senate Democrats’ Desperate Kavanaugh Smear

On Thursday, California Senator Dianne Feinstein released a statement explaining she received a document with evidence against Judge Kavanaugh and turned it over to the FBI for investigation. But what exactly is in the document? And how long did she know about it?

Fox News reported Feinstein had been holding the document since July, waiting to strategically play the information in her political game. Why wouldn’t Feinstein use her various opportunities of meeting with Kavanagh and questioning him last week to address this “concern” — if it was a true concern?  The document has not been made public, but it is reported to contain an allegation of potential sexual misconduct from a classmate during Kavanaugh’s high school days. However, Feinstein wouldn’t share the document with other members of the Senate, creating a vague story with gray information in the wake of the confirmation vote.

“Throughout his confirmation process, Judge Kavanaugh has had 65 meetings with senators – including with Senator Feinstein – sat through over 30 hours of testimony, addressed over 2,000 questions in a public setting and additional questions in a confidential session,” White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec said in a statement. “Not until the eve of his confirmation has Sen. Feinstein or anyone raised the specter of new ‘information’ about him.”

After receiving the document, the FBI announced they would not be proceeding with an investigation of Kavanaugh or the alleged incident. Interesting this “evidence” comes last minute in an attempt to cast doubt on a qualified, honorable appointee. Feinstein is leading Senate Democrats in a desperate smear campaign. Moreso, the Senate Judiciary Committee has already received a letter signed by 65 women who also knew Kavanaugh in high school. This letter stated, “He has always treated women with decency and respect. That was true in high school and it has remained true to this day.”

What Dianne Feinstein and Senate Democrats are doing to Judge Kavanaugh, his family, and our democratic process is unacceptable. These character smears are a deliberate attempt to delay and sink the nomination of a qualified Justice. Their political game won’t work this time — show Senate Democrats that you support Judge Kavanaugh!
