Another federal court ruled against the Biden mandate requiring medical professionals to perform abortions and trans surgeries.
Another federal court blocked President Biden’s mandate that would force doctors to perform trans surgeries regardless of their beliefs.
Judge Reed O’Connor of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted “a permanent injunction” to the Christian plaintiffs to be exempt from the mandate forcing them to carry out abortions and gender reassignments. The plaintiffs include a religious hospital and over 20,000 healthcare professionals.
“Today’s ruling protects patients, aligns with current medical research and ensures doctors aren’t forced to violate their religious beliefs and medical judgment—a victory for common-sense, conscience and sound medicine,” said Luke Goodrich, vice president and senior counsel at Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.
The infrastructure bill is effectively a steppingstone to achieving the Equality Act’s ultimate goal—a total overhaul of our federal civil rights framework to mandate special privileges based on “sexual orientation and gender identity” (SOGI). https://t.co/QEUOF3U1yO

The ruling permanently prohibits Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra from ultimately using the law to force professionals from performing or providing “insurance coverage for gender-transition procedures or abortions, including by denying Federal financial assistance because of their failure to perform or provide insurance coverage for such procedures.”
By blocking Biden’s mandate, courts are taking another step forward in defending religious liberty. If we want to preserve religious freedom—one of our most fundamental rights as Americans—we cannot be afraid to stand up to oppressive mandates like this. Otherwise, the left will quickly and easily take away our constitutional rights.
