Ron Desantis (R) extended Florida’s state of emergency to ensure that schools remain open and Floridians are protected from any requirements to produce a “vaccine passport.”

The concept of Vaccine passports suggests that citizens will be required to show they have received the COVID-19 vaccine to attend events, travel, and many other occurrences.  Desantis is standing against these regulations and is using his executive power to prevent the creation of unreasonable restrictions.  Many American leaders on the left support vaccine legislation and private regulations.

Additionally, Desantis has vowed to keep Florida schools open for the remainder of the school year and into the next school year.  This is essential for the return to normalcy as many American children have been forced into virtual learning.  This will help to protect the rights of Flordians and sets an example for the rest of the country as we exit the COVID-19 quarantine.

“We have been open, we will remain open and we are not turning back,” DeSantis said in February.  He is proving to honor his promises to the American public, unlike Joe Biden who planned to remove mask restrictions after 100 days of his presidency.  Americans are ready for normalcy and lifted restrictions, and Desantis recognizes this mission.
