Eight of the top 10 states in economic growth are led by Republicans.
The top three states leading the U.S. in economic growth are all led by Republicans, according to a new report by the Department of Commerce.
South Dakota, Texas and Utah were the top three states in economic growth. Of the remaining seven states in the top 10, five were also red states – Tennessee, Iowa, Nebraska, Alaska and Missouri.
“The top three states in quarter-over-quarter growth were South Dakota (9.9%), Texas (7.5%), and Utah (7.1%),” The Center Square reported. “All three have Republican trifecta governments, with Republicans controlling the governor’s offices and both chambers of state legislatures.”
The original report was based on 2020 fourth-quarter GDP data, as well as February 2021 unemployment rates.
Really great insight into the things we’ve been working on over the past 3 months. It’s not enough to be the best economy in the nation if we aren’t benefitting people and communities. We can do both. #OneUtah https://t.co/q3Ce9egTV9

In October, The Daily Wire’s Joe Curl also wrote about a report that showed the third quarter of 2020 was the best quarter in American history.
“For July, August, and September, the gross domestic product (GDP), which measures total goods and services produced, grew at the record-shattering pace 0f 33.1% on an annualized basis,” Curl reported. “The previous post-World War II record was the 16.7% growth in the first quarter of 1950. The new burst came after a 31.4% plunge in the second quarter.”
Generating a strong economy is especially important as our country recovers from COVID-19 and the related economic downturn.
It’s clear that Republican leaders understand the importance of a strong economy and how to achieve it. Economic prosperity benefits all Americans, and it’s something we can all contribute to when we are allowed to operate in a conservative, free market.
