White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that the border crisis is only called a “crisis” because of the media.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed last week that the American people only believe there’s a border crisis because of “some components” of the media.
The comments were made while Psaki was speaking on an episode of CNN’s podcast, “The Axe Files with David Axelrod.” She said that “a big driver” of the negative image was “the nature of some components of social media and media these days.”
The White House has also refused to use the term “crisis” to describe the situation at the border.
“We just didn’t want to feed into that on this issue, or really any issue,” Psaki claimed. “To us, it’s like, ‘That wasn’t really a crisis; it was a huge challenge.’”
"It's a crisis. You see how easy it is for these smugglers to raft these migrants across." – Lt. Christopher Olivarez of @TxDPS
Over 28K migrants have been referred to @CBP since March.
Thank you to TX DPS & @TexasGuard for helping secure the border. https://t.co/uL8ZJYAWGo

Regardless of what Psaki thinks, Pew Research Center found that more than two-thirds of Americans say the Biden administration is doing a “very” or “somewhat bad” job dealing with the illegal immigration crisis.
The press secretary can point fingers at the media as much as she wants, but the truth is that President Biden has failed to handle the crisis at the border. Biden caused the crisis by reversing Trump administration policies that kept the border secure, yet Democrats still want to blame Trump.
Americans deserve to have a truthful administration, rather than one that is devious and refuses to take responsibility.
