Gym owners in San Francisco are calling out the hypocrisy of policies that kept their businesses closed while allowing government facilities to open.
While coronavirus lockdowns have kept private gyms closed, some of their owners have spoken out about government gym facilities being open despite the lockdown.
Daniele Rabkin from Crossfit Golden Gate in San Francisco said she had reached out to local police to offer them the option to work out at her gym. In doing so, she learned that they were already able to work out at the city’s Northern District Police Station.
“Even though they’re getting exposed, there are no repercussions, no ramifications?” Rabkin said. “It’s shocking.”
San Francisco At It Again. Gym Owners Are Up In Arms After Discovering Gov Gyms Are Open During COVID-19
How angry would you be if you were losing your small business only to find out that gov gyms were still open after you were forced to shutdown.https://t.co/GooaAp7MJ8

Dave Karraker, owner of MX3 Fitness, said that there seems to be a double standard between the city employees and residents of San Francisco.
“So at this point, we’re just demanding that they allow us to have the same workout privileges for the citizens of San Francisco that the employees of San Francisco have,” he said.
Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was caught on video inside a San Francisco hair salon without a mask on. She later claimed that the salon owner, Erica Kious, “set her up.”
Kious responded by denying that she set Pelosi up and she said that it was not a political issue.
“It’s the fact that she came in and didn’t have a mask on,” Kious said. “If she is in there comfortably, then why are we shut down?”
The double standard that exists in Democrat-led San Francisco is not fair to the city’s residents or the small business owners who have worked hard to maintain their business despite coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions.
We must continue to elect leaders who will put the American people first and honor the individual freedoms of every citizen.
