The Chinese Virus epidemic has required those all across the world- and in America- to make sacrifices to many everyday liberties. In order to prevent the spread and flatten the curve, only essential businesses have been left open. One liberty that won’t be suppressed during this crisis is the second amendment, as President Trump had declared gun stores as “essential” businesses.
In many areas of the country, local government and state governments have tried to close gun shops because of the long lines that have been forming at them and the products they sell. In Los Angeles, California, the Count Sheriff faced massive criticism and lawsuits for temporarily closing gun shops in the county.
The National Sports Shooting Foundation, who helped lobby the Trump administration to allow gun stores to remain open, issued a statement on why they are essential. NSSF senior Vice President Lawrence Keane explained.
“We have seen over the past week hundreds of thousands, even millions, of Americans choosing to exercise their right to keep and bear arms to ensure their safety and the safety of loved ones during these uncertain times. Americans must not be denied the ability to exercise that right to lawfully purchase and acquire firearms during times of emergency.”
The NRA and several other Second Amendment activist organizations have been on the front lines of gun rights for the past several weeks, sending out many lawsuits as multiple states have deemed gun stores non-essential during the Virus.
Since day one, President Trump has delivered on his promise to protect the Second Amendment. He has advocated for gun rights while constantly wading off left wing gun confiscation demands. By deeming gun stores essential businesses, he is once again standing up for what is right.
Our Second Amendment rights do not falter. While gun-grabbing liberals will use any excuse to limit 2A rights, President Trump has consistently stood up for your Constitutional rights!
