Joe Biden; filibuster

President Joe Biden suggested that he is in support of Democrats’ effort to end the ‘racist’ filibuster.

During his press conference this week, President Biden said that he supports Democrats’ efforts to end the filibuster.

Biden claimed that the filibuster had been “abused” when used 250 times last year. Unfortunately, he didn’t mention that Democrats themselves carried out those filibusters.

The president also suggested reviving the “talking filibuster,” where legislators are required to hold the floor in order to prevent a vote. This sometimes led to hours-long filibusters.

“I strongly support moving in that direction,” Biden said. “In addition to having an open mind about dealing with certain things that are just elemental to the functioning of our democracy, like the right to vote. Like the basic right to vote. We’ve amended the filibuster in the past.”

“We’re going to get a lot done, and if we have to, if there’s complete lockdown and chaos as a consequence of the filibuster, then we’ll have to go beyond what I’m talking about,” the president added.

The filibuster has been used by both parties since the inception of the United States. Democrats have said that it has been used for racist agendas, but they failed to recognize that their own party used it to block the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Biden and other Democrats apparently want to end the filibuster now that it’s convenient for them. Their grab for power has been nothing more than an attempt to silence and shut down conservatives, seemingly forever.
