JPMorgan Chase has a long history of backing candidates that align with their financial goals and the culture of their company, but they have stopped donations to Republicans that objected to certifying of the Presidential election from 2020.
“This was a unique and historic moment when we believe the country needed our elected officials to put aside strongly held differences and demonstrate unity. “Democracy, by its nature, requires active participation, compromise, and engaging with people with opposing views. That is why government and business must work together.”
JPMorgan Chase has shown that they do not agree with millions of Americans who questioned the ethics and legitimacy of the 2020 election. The nation’s largest lender is showing that they align with Democrats and have shown their colors moving into the private spending future of their company.
The company’s freeze of political donations only applied to Republicans. This led to many other large corporations halting their donations as well. These groups include Facebook, Goldman Sachs, Kroger and Visa.
