Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis doubled down on his initiatives to stop mask mandate enforcement across the State of Florida, preventing liberal mayors from creating rigid restrictions on citizens.
DeSantis has already said that Florida will never enter a state of lockdowns again, and he will not allow for local governments to create lockdown restrictions. The most recent executive order continues a September initiative that prevents fines and local protocols related to mask wearing. DeSantis is working with people to create positive change for virus control, and he will not allow governments to punish or fine people that are already struggling.
Additionally, he has openly opposed a statewide mask mandate that is similar to those across the country. Coronavirus protocols around the United States have contributed to the economic downturn throughout 2020. Leaders like DeSantis are showing that there are better ways to help people get through the pandemic without bankrupting local and state economies.
The office of Gov. DeSantis released a statement regarding another lockdown. “The Governor will not lock down and hurt families who can’t afford to shelter in place for 6 weeks. Especially not for a virus that has a 99.8 percent survival rate,” his office stated. He is focused on easing the exposure in assisted living communities and others in need due to COVID-19 repercussions.
COVID-19 has taken so much away from Americans throughout the year, and most of the negative consequences have been caused by overbearing politicians. They have created policies to destroy the economic landscape of the United States.
