Disney fired actress Gina Carano for ‘abhorrent and unacceptable’ social media posts calling out political intolerance.
Disney fired actress Gina Carano this week because of posts she made on social media comparing political intolerance to Nazi Germany.
“The Mandalorian” star, a conservative and supporter of Trump, apparently shared a screenshot of another person’s post on her Instagram account. The post stated:
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.
‘Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?'”
Disney-owned Lucasfilm released a statement that said: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Carano’s liberal co-star on The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal, had also compared the U.S. to Nazi Germany in a Tweet but was never reprimanded.
Same Movie as @ginacarano, same analogy, though the pic has the wrong date… I'm told it was 2010 under Obama/Biden.
So does @Disney discriminate against women for doing what their male actors do or is is only discrimination against conservatives? https://t.co/D2q9Vo9GQX

As a result, Disney has faced backlash online, including a trending #CancelDisneyPlus on Twitter.
Disney has apparently joined the recent onslaught of ridiculous “cancel culture” attitude toward conservatives. Their biased actions against Gina Carano are corporate fascism; the left’s way of shutting down anyone they disagree with.
If we don’t continue fighting for conservative voices to be heard, the media and political left will continue to trample upon free speech.
