Within the last 15 years, seven New York Democrats have been forced to resign from public office, including the last three governors.
The Democratic Party in New York clearly has a systematic issue with nominating and electing disgraceful public officials. In addition to the last three governors, there has also been an attorney general, state assembly speaker, a state comptroller and former congressman Anthony Weiner.
These Democrats mark the inability of Democrats to place officials with a strong moral compass into publicly elected positions. These have included Cuomo’s sexual harassment incidents, bribery allegations, and charges of defrauding the government. Within this same time frame, two New York Republicans have also been forced to resign.
The state of New York has been a stronghold for Democrats for many years and will presumably remain that way for years to come. Many officials have questioned the scrutiny of these officials and if there are more Democrats that have committed heinous and horrendous actions.
Claims against Andrew Cuomo are seen as extremely credible and have been backed up by independent testimony in the public eye. Politicians that treat other humans like this should have no place in making policies that affect millions of Americans.
