Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) is using the Chinese coronavirus as an excuse for the massive rise of violent crime in Chicago and other liberal led cities across the country.
Mayor Lightfoot appeared on MSNBC;s “Morning Joe” and stated that there was “no question there was a COVID-related impact on the public safety system.” She stated that police departments and the lack of resources contributed to increased poverty and a lack of hope in the city.
Mayor Lightfoot has shown extremely liberal ideals throughout the entirety of her public sector life. The city of Chicago has become increasingly dangerous since she took office. Additionally, she said that other cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. can also blame COVID for violence in their communities.
This should be seen as an extreme cop out by Mayor Lightfoot and another example of a Democrat-led city using any excuse before taking responsibility. The COVID-19 regulations that are causing any issues within communities are only supported by Democrats. Lightfoot and her cronies are the problem, but lack the awareness to take responsibility for their actions.
