Protest signs in Washington, DC; Biden Republicans police

The Biden administration has doubled down on its ridiculous claim that Republicans are the ones who have defunded the police.

As crime surges throughout the country, the Biden administration has decided to blame Republicans for defunding the police.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently doubled down on Biden adviser Cedric Richmond’s claim that Republicans were the ones who defunded the police. Richmond said that by not supporting the American Rescue Plan, Republicans had defunded the police and as a result, caused the recent rise in crime.

When asked about Richmond’s comment, Psaki answered, “Well, the President did mention that the American Rescue Plan, they’ll—the state and local funding—something that was supported by the President, a lot of Democrats who supported and voted for the bill—could help ensure local cops were kept on the beat in communities across the country. As you know, it didn’t receive a single Republican vote. That funding has been used to keep cops on the beat.”

Republican leaders rejected the American Rescue Plan, however, because of its reckless and unnecessary $1.9-trillion stimulus. And in the months since the bill passed, inflation has been rapidly rising.

Democrats, the people whose party has called to defund and abolish the police, now want to shift the blame to Republicans for skyrocketing crime in major cities. The Biden administration is apparently trying to gaslight Republicans into thinking the crime wave is their fault.

We have seen this kind of thing before with the border crisis, and now the Biden administration is doing it again. It’s an obvious sign of a leadership that has failed the American people and is trying to deflect the blame.
